Hi All - I have a Megaflo which has required frequent repressurisation in the last year or so. The last time I did this, I had a continuous stream of water through the tundish for a couple of minutes which has never happened before. My naive guess is that the compartment membrane has died allowing water into the upper part and I need a new cylinder.

I would be grateful for more informed opinion.

Thanks

Or, it could be the safety valve or a faulty pressure regulator. Not a DIY job, you need to get a plumber with a G3 (unvented hot water systems) qualification to investigate and do some checks before jumping to conclusions. Megaflo's have very long warranty's so if it is something that requires replacing the cylinder you may be covered. If not, your G3 qualified plumber will probably be able to fit an external expansion vessel.

Or fit an external expansion vessel also not a diy job

Presume you mean that the continuous water stream was when you opened the TPRV (temperature & pressure relief valve) ??, if you didn't open a HW tap (after shutting the cold supply to the HW cylinder) first then you might have to drain 20/40 litres of water into the tundish, if you open a HW tap first then the remaining air bubble 3 bar pressure will expel most of this through it leaving a lot less or very little to drain into the tundish.
