Single Zone UFH Help in bathroom, so many questions

Done a fair bit of reading and spoke to numerous plumbers/heating engineers and I get so many different answers to my question. By nature I'm a pretty inquisitive bloke and like to know how things work and if its the best way to do things. So my first question is does a single zone UFH setup...

    UFH zones not heating up

Hi, I'm a complete novice to UFH so excuse my ignorance! I've just had underfloor heating installed and an area of the ground floor is not heating up. The thermostat is set to 21 but it isn't getting past 20, and that's due to heat from other zones within a large open plan ground floor. The...

Single Zone UFH addition to main system wiring

Advice needed please: I have an UFH installation as part of my main CH system. The UFH will never be required in isolation to HW or main CH, therefore keen to wire it completely independently of boiler and main wiring. All I want to achieve is the following: A new Room stat (in the location...

UFH zone always on - what is causing it?

Hi There Currently using a Panasonic Air to Water UFH heating system in a new build and appear to have some gremlins in the system 1 - I've noticed that the kitchen zone is always hot if any other zone in the building is on. What could be causing this? Additional info - I think it is not...

    Changing radiator to another zone

Hi, I have a 2 Zones for my central heating. I have attached the picture of the Zones. I wanted to move the "hallway rad Zone 2" to Zone 1. From looking at the piping. I think I can just move the "hallway rad Zone 2" pipe (thin white one) to Zone 1 so it gets the hot water from Zone 1 when the...

    Honeywell normally open zone valve

Interesting question and one I’ve never even thought about until I messed up today. This might be a bit long…. I’ve got a multi fuel system on the go, gravity primary’s for hot water off Rayburn, big biomass boiler, air source is involved for the floors , pumped heating split into 5 zones blah...

Cause of intermittent noise from pump and zone valves

Open vented fully pumped oil fired system. Works well but occasionally (every few days or do) loud throbbing noise from pipes directly above boiler. Goes away if system switched off and then immediately on again. New pump and no benefit from replacing zone valves. Any ideas gratefully received

    Zone vales underfloor

Has anyone seen this configuration before with zone valves installing under the floor in the joist area with an access trap. Not ideal I know. Is for zoning a downstairs drop system and upstairs 15mm up though the floor. Boiler in the kitchen with pipes exiting upwards from the boiler via stand...

Hive installation - dual zone heating with Combi boiler and hot water cylinder

Hi all, At our old flat, we had a combi boiler which dealt with heating and hot water without an additional tank. There was an external timer next to the boiler, and a room thermostat (manual) in the hallway. I was able to replace the latter with a receiver and wireless (not smart) thermostat...

Advice on a JG UH3 Wiring Zone and how to stop the UF pump running when the HW timer kicks in

Hi all. First post. I have a JG UH3 wiring zone and I've noticed that the UFH pump always comes on when the HW 'circuit/thermo' is triggered. Hence - rather than just heat the water in the tank - I also heat the UF circuits. I can't see a way to avoid this - it may be the way the circuits...

Honeywell 2 port zone valve not turning on

There's power going to the valve head but the motor won't activate to turn the spindle to open the valve. The manual override will not activate the valve either. Should I replace the valve powered or Whole valve unit with pipe/spindle attached. My initial thinking the valve motor died and I...

Evohome multiple HR92 in single zone

Hi I want to set multiple HR92 on a single zone on my Evohome system but the documation leaves a lot to be desired so I would appreciate some help. This is especially true as the information I have found relating to multiroom says that the Heating type should be set to "zone valve" rather than...

Replacing gas hob with existing cooker hood inside hot zone

Hi, my gas hob needs replacing but I'm told first the existing cooker hood must be raised as it's 70cm instead of 75cm above gas hob as per new regulations. Is that right?

    Dual Zone

Hi, Looking for some advice please. I live in france. We have a house with an attached cottage. We have no heating in our house but the cottage has a combi boiler and central heating rads. Seeing as this cottage is rarely used in the winter it seems daft not to add some rads to the boiler for...

    Zone valve query

Hi I have 3 zone valves, one per floor. I am having an Evohome system fitted so that I can get better control over the room temperatures. The exisiting zone valves will no longer be required and so it would make sense for them to be removed and replaced by pipe. The main issue is that a...

    heating zone valves

Can I run a motorised zone valve and room thermostat from a 240V supply to control a single radiator when the heating is on? Meaning the valve will be open when the room is below the temperature set on room thermostat without turning the boiler on / valve will close shutting off flow to a...

    Zone Valves
