Can water pipes burst in cold weather even if heating on low ?.

Pilot won't light in this weather
Hi.. I'm hoping someone might be able to help me. When the weather is like it is today i.e. cold but more specifically very 'still' ; our boiler (condensing about 9 yrs old) will not work. Normally I can just manually relight the pilot but not this afternoon (switched on OK off the timer this...- MDJO

Vaillant weather compensation
First post here so firstly hello all :) Onto business though, Im just about to have a new Vaillant Ecotec 618 installed and whilst we're at it I'd like to go the whole hog with a VRC430 weather compensation controller to maximise the energy savings and (admittedly) fulfil my desire to keep up...- ChrisG
