Just had my 40mm laminate kitchen worktops replaced. The chippy cut the sink cut-out too tight for the clips, then left for another job. The plumber could only get the clips on one side so put them at the back and used a silicone bead to seal. (The sink being re-inserted had an intact cleaned-up...

I've recently installed a new stainless steel sink and drainer.
It looks great, but it isn't the thickest SS available, and consequently, the drainer flexes somewhat and the bowl sounds pretty tinny in use.
So, I have some Marley Sealtite flashing -- a 100mm wide strip of some thin metal with...
Kitchen are not my specialty first and foremost
I have to replace a damaged stainless steel inset kitchen sink, single bowl standard type as I thought with right hand drainer. The current work top has a cutout of 490mm x 920mm. The actual external (work top surface) dimensions are 520mm x 950mm...
Looking to install a 250L stainless indirect cylinder as part of a barn conversion. Any recommendations as to good brands e.g. RM, Main, Santon, Gledhill etc? They all seem well specified these days but do some have better flanges or general construction? Rather pay a few £ more now to ensure...
Evenong chaps boiler replacemant job ive gotta do customer has requested a stainless hex any recommendations, heat only around 15 kw, eco blue vallient or viessman , Cheers team
Okay, so coincidentally, the two quotes I've had in so far for a replacement combi have happened to have been Worcester approved fitters, but I'm not ruling out other makes, just have to potentially find recommended approved fitters. So far, the general feel of it seems to be £2100-2300 for a...

I fitted a replacement Heatrae Sadia Express 7 water heater some time ago. The old one had an extended spout but it was not compatible with the new one so a new extended spout was ordered. I fitted this spout, there is a pushfit fitting underneath for the spout, it felt a bit loose but seemed to...

Hi, I'm making a hot tub and want to heat the water indirectly by running a couple of lengths of pipe along the bottom of the tub.
I'm heating indirectly because of the chemicals and because I'm taking the heat from the common buffer store.
I thought about pex but I'm not sure that plastic...

Three years ago I installed a new 50 gallon cold water tank in my loft on a platform 54 inches above the ceiling and a new stainless steel 140 litre hot water cylinder which had 22mm welded flanges for inlet and outlets.
I then built a shower room in a spare bedroom fed by a Salamander...

Hello chaps,
I've got a job to fit a hand wash basin in a chippy near me. Just wondering if anyone knows the regs, or HSE rules about these?
They want it a few inches from the main sink in a food prep area, there is one in the next room that they use and they have told me they won't ever use...
Just wondering, I have a spare 18l potable vessel, can I use this for heating??
i wouldn't do it the other way but surely I don't see why you can't. Just seeing what your thoughts are??
cheers
Do I have any other options as the cylinder has a narrow outlet and a Surrey or Salamander type doesn't fit unfortunately? Anything I should be wary of when fitting as I've not cut a SS cylinder before?
Iv been fitting heating in a area where all the houses have stainless pipe. Does any one have pipe slices for stainless? I'm getting fed up using a hacksaw

While fitting a new integrated dishwasher I had to turn off the mains supply to replace a faulty isolation valve. All went well. Water back on and carried on altering doors and plinth etc. Around half an hour later water started to drip through the ceiling at the top of the stairs.

Hi all.
I don't normally fit these sinks but recently been doing them on a council job. The sinks are supplied with the rubber strip that goes underneath the edges. Do you lot bother using the rubber/sponge strip or just silicone? What do you treat the edges of the work top with on the cut out...
I was at a newish plant room the other week where they had used 4" stainless steel gas pipework in the ground connecting to mdpe.
There is little to no info of Mapress and gas in any books I have.
It's not the way I would have done it but what do you think?
