Hi, could anyone point me in the direction of a trv valve adapter that would fit a Siemens, thread: M28 x 1.0 mm? This is the part number referenced in a smart valve pdf which they don't supply 6296/3 EAN: 4011395232583. Also let me know if there is an alternative adapter that I could use.
Thanks
Hi everyone,
I hope you may be able to offer some advice and/or opinions.
I'd really like to install a smart thermostat for our boiler. Due to health conditions, I myself am particularly sensitive to temperature changes and have poor mobility, and therefore find the current traditional dial...
Hi,
I'm getting a Tado smart heating system (have a gas combi boiler). I don't have TRVs currently, so I need to get a plumber to replace my old valves and get TRVs everywhere. So I might as well get good ones, and it doesn't really matter whether one costs €15 or €25.
I found the Danfoss...
When I moved into my bungalow 10 years ago the central heating was a nightmare. Hot water cylinder on the ground floor and presumably lack of general use of zone valves back in 1971 when the system was installed meant that 2 pumps had been installed. Firing of the boiler was controlled by a 4...
Hi All,
I am getting a new Central heating system installed and looking for advice on the best design. The heating system will consist of the following components:
System Boiler.
Megaflo.
2 Zone Underfloor heating.
15 Radiators.
I have narrowed it to the Heatmiser Neo stat system or...
I've just had to take over the affairs of my late brother and I'm looking at his gas bill - the house has a smart meter and he's used more in July (he was single) than we do and there's 4 adults in our house.
The bill suggests the readings are "actual" readings - so how would this be in the...
Anyone able to provide some help with evo smart heating system?
Just moved house on Wednesday and 2 errors showing ….one the utility actuator needs reset and the other is a cons fault hot water valve actuator.
what does this mean and how do I fix it? Please
Hi,
Just moved house on Wednesday. It has an eco smart heating system.
2 errors have flagged up…one the utility activator. And the other as per the pic. We’ve no hot water…anyone able to help?
My plumber have installed the Grohe Grohtherm Smart Control system in my shower (actually, 2 systems in 2 showers).
After ruling out other possibilities, I came to the conclusion that using this system causes the hot water in the water tank to run out too quickly (the hot water runs out after...
Hi. I'm currently renovating a house I've just bought and have just had a Vailant EcoTEC Plus 832 boiler installed and am now looking at options for a smart controller and TRV's for each radiator.
All my electrics will be using Lightwaverf products controlled using an amazon echo, but my...
Hi guys
I have replaced some of my Drayton TRV’s with the smart Tado TRV’s. However I have this installed in the kitchen radiator, the others I just basically unscrewed and screwed the smarts ones, but this one looks different to the chrome Drayton one (see pix)
My question is can this be...
Hi,
We have one programmable thermostat in the landing of our house. This turns on/off all the heating rads and towel rails for the upstairs.
I don't know if this is odd or genius, but effectively it means once the landing is up to temp the rads in the bedrooms turn off and obviously don't...
I have gradually fitted smart TRV's to all of the radiators in our house, and in general we are very pleased with them. However, it has become apparent that quite often, when the timing makes the TRV switch off, this sets off water hammer in that radiator. This is easily fixed by running a hot...
Hi,
My parents' house has an old programmer and thermostat which I want to upgrade to a smart thermostat - either a Nest or Hive Smart Thermostat but I'm not sure if either will be compatible with the current system that we have in place.
Programmer: Horstmann Centaurplus C21
Thermostat...
I have just been round to a customers as they have fault on their boiler. Turns out they have no gas. There is gas at the incoming valve but nothing going through meter. Who do they contact? Thanks
Hi all, a newbie here with relatively little experience. We have a central heating system fitted with TSV's (thermostatic valves) on all radiators. It is controlled by a Honeywell ST799 controller, which is attached to a Glow Worm Ultimate 40 FF boiler. The system has no main thermostat. I want...
I've just moved into a house for the first time where I don't just have a single heating zone. This house has a central timer unit and 4 room thermostats that control 4 Honeywell V4043H1056 valves beside an currently unidentified Johnson Starley combi boiler (although there is also a hot water...

My central heating controller (Horstmann H27XL) is getting more difficult to use due to it's age and because of a disability I have reduced dexterity in my fingers and find the buttons difficult to press. I have been looking at these so called smart thermostats such as Nest, Hive and the...
