This is the only place I can fit a washing machine in my new kitchen. The drainage pipe would have to go approx. 5 m - is this okay or will it cause issues?
Many thanks!
Hi all,
I’d really appreciate some advice. I’ve just put half a cup full of rubbing alcohol in my laundry draw by mistake - I thought it was my white vinegar. I’ve taken the draw out and got rid of most of it as it hadn’t gone anywhere - unlike the detergent. But am a little weary to continue...

May parents have a Honeywell ST9400C, when they want to heat up the emersion heater they have to switch the HW & CH on to get hot water. With the CH on as the same time the house gets very hot, just to have a shower! CAn any one advise what can be wrong?
The toilets both have a piece of wood between the cistern and the wall.I cannot find an outlet pipe which will let me push the cistern against the wall.
Do I have to get a different toilet to achieve this.

Hi team,
We just moved into a new property that has a gas stove where once there was a fireplace. The chimney is still there so we would like to remove the gas stove and put there a real fireplace. From what I can see, there's a metal tube that goes from my gas meter into this stove. Do I need...
Hi,
You may have seen my post from 2-3 weeks ago about the troubles I was having with cowboy builders/electrician/plumber/gas engineer that I had the misfortune of hiring.
Today, I decided to lift up the floorboard to see how they ran the wiring and pipes around the joist and was horrified to...
Hi there,
I was wondering if it would be possible to put a dishwasher on the side of the kitchen opposite to the sink? I know that the waste pipe needs to run down before doing a high loop when joining the drain pipe, however looking at advice from other forums, would this be possible to fit...
Hi, got called to a regular customer who said their shower leaks when used. Was hoping it was the tray seal. No such luck.
Where the pipe is coming out the wall it's 1.5". sort of. It's the waste from the shower. I don't have before pictures but someone had fitted a compression elbow with no...
Hi guys, I had an Adey installed a couple years ago, but, stupidly, at the time, didn't have the protector poured in as I mislaid it, new rads and all, argh!
I kept putting it off but am conscious that it really needs to be done.
I guess I am wondering what the best course of action is now...
Hi all,
I want to put the washing machine in the garage but will need to do the pipework. The only water pipe going into the garage is the one for the combi boiler, which is also in the garage. Would it be ok to come off the water pipe for the boiler?
Thanks for reading
Long story short I fitted a boiler for landlord last year and they were adamant they were to supply everything. At the end of it I mentioned it needed a plume kit to take it further out from the neighbouring house . It was 200 mm away said it needed 300 mm minimum gave them the product code and...
Going to look at thermostatic Hansgrohe ecomax today, the customer says it’s fine on bath fill but goes cold when put onto shower.
I thought both went through the thermostatic cartridge and am unsure how what see says could happen.
It used to work fine, I can only think cartridge is on its last...
Hi
My parents late 80's and early 90's live in a 3 bedroom semi. Ideal logic 30 combi boiler fitted in the bathroom provides heat and hot water. Radiators and original pipe work were put in by Dad 40 - 50 years ago, when it started life as a solid fuel driven system.
By the end of the winter...
