Can anyone help, please? I'm looking for a heating system circulation pump for a domestic install, with 3 speeds, where the speed can be toggled electrically as well as via a push switch on the pump body.
I'm using this pump with a wood boiler stove, where I want to run the pump at its slowest...
Hi!
We're looking for a consult for our 1905 built (renovated in 2010) victorian house for the future of our heating system. The house is 2 floors and runs 2 different systems and hot water.
On the ground floor we have water based underfloor heating with a mix of tile and wood floors with...
I had a new electrical water heater (Rheem) installed in our apartment - before it was inside the closet, but now we installed in the basement of the building. Due to the new layout, the main hot line is connected to a different point, near the laundry shut off. The old heater tank connection is...
Hi guys. I’m still very new to boiler fault finding but was wondering whether you could advise me on a particular multimeter or tester that would help with fault finding? The wife has been a good one and got me a Martindale ET5 open jaw tester but I’m unsure whether they’re any good? I can’t...

I have a smell of burning from the immersion on hot water cylinder. The overheat pin had popped out, but when I popped it back in and switched on there were tiny smouldering flames around one of the contacts where the thermostat connects to the immersion.
Separately I've replaced the timer as...
Hello all, I'm hoping someone can advice me on my heating problem - I seem to have lost all downstairs UFH, but the upstairs heating and hot water are fine.
About our system:
We have a gas boiler feeding an 5 zone UFH system downstairs, some radiators upstairs and the hot water cylinder. This...
Can anyone tell me if its actually a reg or just good practice that a switched socket outlet (as well as a switched spur) MUST be fitted next to boilers in lofts so when service engineer visits there is somewhere to plug in equipment should he need it ?
I have always done it but wasnt sure if...
Hi, I’ve just taken off the side of the bath with the aim of fitting an overhead shower to the bath, and have found an electrical unit under the bath, which appears to be for the central heating system. It’s fixed to the floor, so it’s not raised, and the fact that a small ingress of water has...

I have WB combi boiler controlled by a Danfoss wall-mounted wireless thermostat. I recently had some electrical work done as follows:
1. New mains distribution board in hallway
2. New cable from distribution board to double oven in kitchen
3. New isolation switches to bathroom extractor fan...
ok is it electrical ground or dielectic. I will remove then replace when done, should I shut off electrical breakers or is it necessary? Should I place it in a different spot or can I remove it for 3 hours or so then replace?
Most electrical work required for plumbing/heating does not seem to be notifiable under building regulations.
What electrical qualifications do most have for basic electrical work such as installing/fault finding heating controls or adding a fused spur for a boiler.
hi guys,
I've removed a internal oil boiler that has a fused spur pump and a fused spur power to boiler.
If it's not striaght forward I'll get a sparky. But if it is I'll do it with the help of you guys.
