Looking at a friend's system yesterday. The boiler is refusing to fire and showing a fault code indicating no water flow. The pressure vessel gauge shows a pressure of 1 bar.
I concluded the schematic was roughly as shown here
I'm concerned that
the pressure vessel gauge could still register...

Hi forum,
We have a >10 year old 2 Bar Aqualisa Type 1 pump for the shower.
Recently it started acting up...
Sometimes the cold would completely stop but the hot would keep flowing (almost scalded myself in the shower), when this happens the pump makes an intermittent stop/start revving sound...
Hey everyone, I've dealt with a few bad airlocks over the years but was wondering if anyone had any good tricks to get them out faster/easier.
I've always been told to just leave it on constant until it settles and another time we had this plumber help us and he removed the thermostats on the...
Hi all,
Quick one, do you guys charge extra for dealing with airlocks after you drain a CH system down for rad removal etc. Some of them can be fairly labour intensive like the one one of my staff is sorting out now. We do charge for any work to remove airlocks on top of the original quote...
Hi there, I'm going to install an oil fired boiler soon, and the primary flow and return rises from the floor standing boiler and then travels across the top of the kitchen and then down the wall into the cylinder cupboard and up into the mid positioned valve. Its an open vented system, so can...

2 Storey house. Boiler on ground floor, indirect vented hot water cylinder on first floor, cold water tank sitting on the rafters in the loft.
One bathroom with just a bath (no...

This was done via a mixer tap, which had mains cold but tank-fed hot.
My question is, could this be done...
As title, just a thought I had today & I thought you guys would know the answer? With copper, pipe runs can all be run so air will make its way up & out but does plastic pipe struggle in this regard. Reason I ask is because even if its clipped to allow air to escape properly the pipe is still...

Hello all.
The system is an open vented system with the cold water tank 5" above the cylinder in a small cupboard so there is no way of removing them (must have been built in). it is heated by immersion heater.
The thing is, its airlocking every couple of days, the woman said its been like...
