Hello everyone. I am studying Level 2 Domestic plumbing(6129 Technical Certificate) and i am looking for someone who is doing the same course so that we can link up and share some information and experiances. I am doing it with Train 4 Trade Skills.:smart:
Rather than bump and old post, i'll copy it into a new thread and update it for all those people confused over the quals ;)
C&G is NOT a qualification, it is an awarding body. They do L1 construction multi skills, so in theory you could do this simple course and say you are C&G qualified in all...
Hello,
Having worked in construction since finishing school but now being out of work, I have decided that I want to become fully qualified in some other trades. Ideally, I would like to gain all the necessary plumbing quals to become fully qualified i.e level 3 and beyond. Im 25 now so...
my son has passed his 6129 but with no portfolio evidence his tutor says he has to do it over next term and come back the following year to start 2nd year . he has now started with a company and they say that they can finish it for him in 12 weeks all the work needed as they want this so he can...
I'm looking to gain the C&G 6129 Technical Certificate in plumbing as quickly as possible in the Midlands. Most college courses seem to be 1 year to complete. I've found one 12 week course but it's not in my area and I don't want to pay for the expensive private fast track courses. Does anyone...

Is this statement true?
'From 2012 all plumbers wishing to work in the construction industry/site will be required to hold a City & Guilds NVQ2 in plumbing to work on construction sites.'
Look forward to your answers.
Portfolio Level 2 6129 Plumbing Task Manual. I am requiring help for bullet point ideas for the written parts; Materials/Procedure lists, and sizes. Help needed on the following five pages... PP2 - SP8 - SW5 - SW6 - BI. Any help on these would be much appreciated as only 2 weeks left in college...
Hi everyone.
I am nearly at the ens of my City & Guilds 6129 level 2 at college and was wondering whether to try go find work with a qualified plumber full time or bite the bullet and stay on at college and do my level 3?
Any feedback will be greatfully appreciated!
Hi,
Ive just found out from a mate that a new scheme is being introduced at the start of next month which will replace city & guilds 6129. I currently have tech certificate 2 and working through level 3, do i need to get signed onto a nvq course before this comes in so as to prevent me...
C&G ar saying the 6129 can continue after this month, unclear as to how just yet but i dont think it will be funded so probably only available for full cost
I have my 6129 folder in front of me and i completed this 3 yrs ago. I also have the certificates i achieved from the course.
What exactly is the purpose of the C&G 6129 folder? is it just a collection of evidence
only reason i ask is the certificates say city and guilds level 2...

Hi,
I have just passed the C&G 6129 course and want to start a new plumbing business, there are two of us hoping to go into business together as we were on the same course. I was wondering what the average first year turnover is likely to be, does anyone have any idea?

Steve

Hi Chaps,
I'm looking for a bit more experience, and was wondering if anyone in my area might be interested. I live in Exeter but I would be willing to travel a sensible distance.
I've been working for the last 5 months, I have a City & Guilds 6129, I'm currently enrolled in my NVQ Lvl 2...
