Hi everyone, I've had rods break and come apart before and I can't go losing them up a customers drain, so recommendations please......
Which drain rods do you recommend, for a tradesmen, not a DIY set?
And/or how can I tell a good set from bad?
I started digging up my garden to lay some new patio slabs and found this (rodding point, I believe) covered with grass. The new slabs will be an inch or so above the level of the old ones. What are my options for dealing with this?
I have an internal soilstack with limited accesability.
The soilstack has a rodding point similar to picture below.
I need to attach a 40 mm waste pipe to where the ridding cover is.
My question is ther an adaptor for this job??
Thanks Eddy
Hello, I have sewer pipe with a rodding access point that dates from the 1950s. It is a cast iron pipe with a brass plug/cap (see photo). My question is: is there a special tool/spanner for opening this? Many thanks.
Hi, looking for some help/advice please...
I have a rodding point (just off our driveway) for the main waste leading to an ancient septic tank. It’s an uncapped vertical clay pipe that currently sits a couple of inches proud of the ground with a grate balanced on top. The problem has been that...
Hello,
There’s a ‘drain rodding point’ which lies in the alleyway exactly between mine and my neighbours house, equidistant between the outsides of downstairs toilets in both properties. This evening I noticed that the cover was loose and an area about 1 metre squared covered in waste (toilet...
Going to put a small bit of decking in back garden , over a `drain rodding point` , but will leave a removable hatch of some sort for access.
Going to be placing a hot tub on the decking , so the question is , can i use this drain rodding point as drainage for the hot tub ?
Or will it stink...
Hi, I need to add rodding access into my soil pipe (under the floor boards downstairs). Unfortunately the current pipe is cast iron and I'm told by my plumber is 5 inch or 130mm diameter. I'm having a nightmare trying to find the best way of doing this with this diameter pipe. Do I cut a...

I am leasing a new commercial space and I am wondering if this is a cap to a floor drain. I'll be looking for a commercial installation in Raleigh to make a few modifications if anyone is looking for work who is licensed and can pull a commercial permit.
Hello,
I've had a problem with blocked drains, I opened the manhole tonight to discover a build up of waste. Can I get some advice on how to deal with this myself.
Thanks.

Hi
Just wondered if somebody could give me some advice.
I've got to move a toilet from it's current position and I can't move the soil pipe on the outside of the house as it runs under the roof a lean to extension.
I was thinking about putting a 90 degree bend onto the soil pipe...

Over the last two or three months my parents have noticed a slimy residue forming in the small raised lawn at the front of their property. It is colourless, odourless and occupies a patch less than 1 square metre of lawn. It is also directly above where the underground soil pipes and then join...
I've got to get a new vacuum cleaner and am seriously thinking about a Henry.
However I've read that it may be better off to get a Charles (wet and dry) as it's useful for plumbing work.
Now I'm not a pro plumber, but I do have a blockage in my heating system (downstairs radiators are...

I thought with all the talk of a 'double dip' recession us plumbers would need a funny thread to keep morale up. Let's hear the funniest (looking back) things that have happened to you as a plumber.
