Hi all, hope this is ok to post here but I’m really struggling to get any responses from anyone.

I am a 36 year old from just outside of Maidstone who has recently decided to retrain with the hope of eventually starting a career in the domestic plumbing and heating industry (looking to get into gas work-following the father-in-law’s footsteps).

I have recently completed a six week level 2 diploma in plumbing (City and Guilds 6035 qualified to Plumbers Mate level) and am currently doing a BPEC foundation gas course.

I am looking for options to complete my 'on the job' portfolio before then taking my ACS examination. I am required to perform 5 boiler installations and services, as well as completing 420 hours of assisted and unassisted work and was wondering if anyone would be able to help at all?

Whilst I have no prior experience in this field, I am very keen to learn and get out there doing some work, unpaid of course.

I appreciate that not everyone approves of this method of getting into the industry but I need to get some qualifications to my name so I can end up bringing in a half decent wage and be able to provide for my family.

Thanks in advance.
