Thus fella operating in Burnley has set up a not for profit business is crowd fund backed and carries out work for vulnerable people so he gets paid but the needy individual does not.

Is this common where a plumber will come out and then fail to send through a quote for work?
I have called a few plumbers and they have said they would call back to arrange a time but have not and two have come out and failed to get back to me with a quote.
Strange behaviour.
Hi Everyone! My name is Steph and I have been searching hi and low for knowledge on how to open my cistern. No button plate looks like mine and I'm kinda stuck. Please help me if you recognize it!
Thank you!
Hey lads,
Trying to fix a toilet for a lady friend (to make a good impression, you know) but having a hard time. It doesn't flush, and the only it does is when I use the hose from the shower and fill up the tank with water. Once it gets to a certain point, it flushes okay, but obviously it...
Hi guys
Went to do a landlords gas check last night.
Boiler was off at the wall, tenant in the middle of moving in. She said the boilers been switched off for approx 3-4 weeks since the last tenant moved out.
I switched it on, blue light illuminated for power straight away. Created a demand...
As above, got to fit a combi for a landlord, he's supplying the boiler so it will probably be the cheapest he can find!
So what's the simplest and most cost effective way of complying with the new regs?
Still trying to plan how best to tackle my old ch system. I posted a thread recently on here to identify the motorised valve - turned out to be Satchwell Minival (momo?)

The Thorn Olympic boiler works fine and so does the pump and new Drayton...
Hi all,
I've just moved in to a new build with the above boiler and two thermostats (one upstairs, one downstairs). The other day we had an issue where the heating upstairs stayed on no matter what the thermostat said, I managed to factory reset the upstairs thermostat and since then the rads...
Hi all
Fitting a new monobloc mixer tap. The flexi tails that came with the tap (see first photo) don't fit the connection (see second photo). Is there a connector / coupler that will allow the flexi tail to connect to the compression coupling? If you could provide a website link to a connector...
I have a Bosch Worcester 24Si II boiler (see picture of control panel below). It's in an external housing outside the kitchen. Last night there was no hot water.
I've followed the instructions in the user manual:
- Initially the fault light was flashing slowly and after resetting it (holding...
Hi guys,
I hope you all are ok?
I was just wondering what you guys would do.
Went out in December last year to do a powerflush and installed a filter very close at the return pipe.
I used 2x800 and 1 x100 sentinel
I flushed 2 small column, 1 window bay kinked rad, and 4 standard double...
I think the actuator on our MA1/679 is faulty/sticking, but am not sure how to get it off to replace it. It was fitted so that it is touching one of the pressure vessels. The leaflet left by the plumber doesn't really help.( I tried to post a link to a pdf of it here, but the forum doesn't...
Hi. I've just bought a house that has an old Johnson & Stanley warm air heating system. Everything seems fine apart from the fact that the fan does not turn when it kicks in. If i leave it for a minute or two the casing of the fan itself gets really hot and there's a definite burning smell comes...

Morning guys, I attended a jaguar combi boiler to which I know very little about, the hot tap in the kitchen pretty close to the boiler when I put the hot tap on the boiler doesn't light the cold just runs through the boiler. If I go upstairs and put the tap on the boiler ignites but doesn't run...

Hi,
I have asked people in the gas industry this question more than once and no one can ever give me a straight answer or a reliable one. I know the reason why gas pipe should be installed from big to small. But what happens if say for example you connect 22mm gas pipe to 15mm, in terms of...
Hello. First time post, hoping I can get some help. The outside bottle gully that collects waste water from the kitchen has broken. Doesn't look too bad a job so I'm having a go.
I've dug down and chipped away all the concrete so iI'm now in a position to remove the old gully. I have a...

Hi,
I'd be very grateful for any help in trying to identify the external filling loop for my Worcester boiler. I'm waiting for the plumber but he's been delayed. I should say right now that I know virtually nothing about boilers.
The pilot light on my boiler is lit but the main light won't...

We've just had a shower room fitted with units and sanitary ware from a fairly well known and definitely not cheap supplier. The basin is semi-recessed into a vanity unit with a loo right next to it, and the basin and the toilet look to be a completely different colour. I asked for a replacement...
