Hey everyone, pretty much first time doing any kind of plumbing. In a new build bottom floor flat built about 7 years ago with very very hard water, wanted to change the sink taps in the bathroom as they were in a right state and water was starting to run down the tap onto the sink top and dripping everywhere, however after tightening the hot tap up and turning the valve back on it started leaking.

Took the elbow type piece off that connects to the tap and the seal inside on the tap end is so rotton. I have no idea what this piece is called to try and find a replacement or if I can just replace the seal inside, any help appreciated. Each end is different. Pictures attached.

Thanks

It is called a tap connector and you can happily reuse it.

You need a new
“1/2 inch fibre washer”, these are usually red or browny red.

Remove the old one , maybe with a small screwdriver if it is stuck, until you have just metal left (often they break up into pieces, get it all out)

Put new washer and tighten up, if it drips slightly wait a few minutes as the washer will swell as it gets wet, nip up tighter until it stops dripping.
