Hello,

looking for some advice with regards to our new wet room shower, we have noticed a leak in the ceiling directly below the shower. We have run some tests and forced water down the waste using a hose and it seems to be fine, we’ve placed the hose in different areas around the shower and the only place that caused two small coin-shaped leaks to appear on the ceiling below was when the water from the hose was running over the edge of the drain. However, the full extent of the leak appeared when we removed the hose and left the shower running for 20 minutes and the larger leak appeared on the ceiling. There are a few small hairline cracks in the grout.

Our plumber has since moved to Australia and before I get someone else in to fit it I want to be armed with some knowledge as I’m sure rectifying this kind of job is every plumbers worst nightmare.

Pictures attached!

Thanks in advance.

Hi, Can anyone advise as to why the cold water to my bathroom keeps airlocking? This originally happened about 12 months ago and has happened 3-4 times since. It’s an upstairs bathroom, fed from a tank in the attic. The tank is about 8 Meters away and feeds a bath, sink and toilet. The tank...

I was stupid enough not to check the position of the pipes under the tiles when installing a toilet and drilled right through the center of a 16 mm copper water pipe. I exposed the pipe by removing a ~30cm section of the plastic sleeve and a ~10 cm section of the pipe around the hole. Several...
