Hi . I am a DIY trying to reconnect my wetback and solar hot water panels I have had a horizontal outdoor water cylinder made up . Most of the connections are straightforward but I am not sure about the vent at the top . On the old one there was a 2 meter vertical open pipe but I am not sure if this was to increase pressure or to act as a vent . I have plenty of pressure now so not sure whether to reuse it or just put in a pressure relief valve .
 
Need a diagram to understand what you are on about. Be aware solar has the potential to boil water so you really need to be careful what you are doing!

Outdoor stopcock doesn't fully close

UK Can't get stopcock 100% closed to allow a tap repair
I have a plumber coming tomorrow to change a cartridge on a badly dripping tap on my bathroom mixer unit. There is no separate isolating valve for this tap so I'll have to close the stopcock. I tried closing it today but it won't go absolutely 100% closed and there is still a very slight flow...
