Discuss Valves on Y plan is this normal? in the DIY Plumbing Forum area at PlumbersForums.net

Attached is a drawing of current valves on Y plan. All are gate valves and dirty at that so will change for ball valves. What I would like to know is the following

What is the purpose of valve C. It is a 22mm valve on 28 mm pipework
Obviously valves A and B isolate the radiators and the DHW circuit is left to its own devices.
Would you install more valves, or get rid of some? If so what would you do?

Thanks
