My missus despises valentines day even more than I do, one of the many reasons why almost 13yrs have flown by together. Xmas is the only one of the 'events' she cares about (she never even remembers date we got together, although does remember the date we got our first dog ) whereas left to my own accord I'm quite the scrooge but make the effort for her on that day.

Those were pre existing stances formed long before I came along. I learnt the hard way that the only way for an easyish life is to generally do as I'm told
