Hi everyone,

About a year ago we moved into a new property which has a towel heater as part of the Central Heating System. There are no thermostats as part of the valves, so after a quick look on google I believe it is a manual heater.

In the summer a leak developed on the left hand side valve due to the valve being accidentally loosened, we resolved the leak by just tightening it up and from that point it has never worked.

Would it be possible that we have overtightened it and by loosening it by a quarter turn it should return as it was before the leak? I have bled the whole heating system and at the time water came out but again no heat on the towel rail. The two heating pipes that connect to the valve are stone cold (the heating radiators work ok), so is this a bigger problem than the valve?

Anything I can do and see if I can fix it before I resort to a plumber?

Thanks in advance

Steve
