Is there a modern alternative to the old bread trick for soldering where you can’t get pipework completely dry?

I’ve made a DIY version of a jet swet but it obviously only works on straight pipe sections.

Not that I know of, you'd have thought someone would have made something by now.

I use the wet vac to get the pipe as dry as possible first. If there is still a small weep of water coming down the pipe I get all my soldering kit ready at hand as you need to work fast. Then I take my blow lamp and get a section of the pipe nice and hot upstream of the area I want to solder. This usually keeps the water at bay for just long enough by turning it to steam to solder the joint. It won't work if there's too much water coming through but for those annoying little trickles it works.

This can work when you can't get the proper tool around the bend.

I think a press gun is on the shopping list, I’m still not completely sold on the whole idea especially when burying in walls and floors.
