Sewer storm water back up problems

hi.We have a holiday property ( on condominium) with a basement approx 10feet below ground level). In the basement there are 2 rooms - one en suite with toilet and shower.The condo relies on a cesspit . Last week we had an horrendous storm with extremely heavy and long landing rains. W e returned to find the basement under 9 inches waer. My immediate reaction was to block off the drains ( cement) with the downside being that the facilities would obviously then be out of use( we have another en suite on the gound floor). However 2 days after the event I am now thinking more rationally lol. So my question is - what solution would you recommend ( other than selling the property lol). ? Our neighbour suggests a double non return valve ? If this was a viable solution , what labour would be required , what would have to be done and what product would you recommend. Thanks

Jonathan ...I sympathise ...flooding is terrible experience. Can you tell us if your problem is in UK or not please. This is relevant to the help I and my friends on UKPF might be able to provide....chking

Hi. I live in Glasgow but the property in question is a holiday apartment in Turkey.

Lots of 110mm anti-flood valves out there but not at all sure how they could be fitted to a Turkish drainage system !!!

Steady on with commercialising your posts matey. It can skew your advice biased when you have a commercial interest in what you're advising. I'll let this one go. I know nowt about any of the brands. So not sure if it's skewed too much but I can see this going south if we don't clock it.

So just keep that in mind for me CHK.
