Hi all, just moved in to a new house and currently searching for the stopcock, this is under the kitchen sink, I’ve turned it on and off but doesn’t seem to do anything. Any ideas what it is for please?

Also, any ideas where else the stopcock might be?!
Many Thanks

Some homes have mains stopcock in strange places and can be a result of extensions to the house done in the past.
Try careful check around the kitchen sink units or in airing cupboards etc.

As its a new house find the water meter or stop outside. Black circular disk 6 inch dia. Lift lid with flat head screwdriver and see what’s inside might even have a water key in there. Centralheatking

As others have said, that is the feed for a dishwasher or washing machine. The blue valve handle is the service vale (isolator) for the supply to the machine.

The white box with red nut is an anti-flood device. The grey hose coming out of the bottom is actually a hose within a hose. The inner hose carries the water and the outer ribbed hose is there to contain any water if the inner hose bursts. If the hose inside bursts, the whole thing will fill with water until it reaches the white box. When that happen it lifts a float inside and shuts off the water supply, just to that machine, and prevents a flood.

Hi, Can anyone advise as to why the cold water to my bathroom keeps airlocking? This originally happened about 12 months ago and has happened 3-4 times since. It’s an upstairs bathroom, fed from a tank in the attic. The tank is about 8 Meters away and feeds a bath, sink and toilet. The tank...

Hi guys. I'm trying to identify a toilet model before ordering a seat for a customer. I went to what used to be a Roca stockist (they no longer are) and one of the guys there reckoned it might be "The Gap". I went to the new stockist and the guy there disagreed it was "The Gap" and that he'd...
