Salus thermostat RT310TX has a blank screen and stopped working, resulting in no connection to boiler reciever

We use quite a few salus stats customers are always forgetting to change the batteries despite a low battery symbol showing! ( we now replace them as part of yearly service.
Had to speak to salus technical couple of weeks ago about this exact problem screen dead battery's changed still not working.
Take out batteries completely wait at least 20 min (there is a capacitor in the stat that needs to discharge. Replace batteries may take up to 30 min for screen to return.
You must use alkaline type battery's zinc carbon or rechargeable will not do!

Great advise, thank you, worked perfect.

My Salus remote thermostat won't connect to the boiler , there is brand new Duracell batteries in the remote and the thing next to the boiler is just flashing red, no green button light on

Salus Thermostat is shoeing display but can't seem to connect it to the boiler, setting temperature to lower than room temperature but boiler not kicking in. Boiler is working fine otherwise
