Hi I have a rangemaster kitchen tap, with a curved spout and quarter turn valves.

It's about 3 years old.

With both valves off there is no leak.

When one valve only is full on, water leaks from the top of the opposite valve stem. It's like the water has traveled to the opposite side, above the cartridge, and then leaks out.

Any ideas? Should there be a non-return valve in the middle somewhere (under where the spout swivels around??)

Just to add a few more details it's a

Note that it doesn't leak when the valves are off. If also doesn't leak from the valve that in ON, but from the opposite side.

Replace both cartridges. There is nothing wrong with the discs. The fault arises as the o-ring(s) on the stems have worn out.
