I have a duplex on the Goldie in Queensland, bottom of my driveway has a grate which connects to a 100mm agi pipe 500mm deep that runs around the side of my house, takes a turn under my patio then a turn out to the back outside my fence into a gravel pit.
My property backs onto a park with a decent 30m bank going down.
At the pit it has a pvc Y connection with an agi pipe going directly into the gravel and one going straight up as an overflow, when I get heavy rain it builds up at the driveway grate and floods the garage.
It's obviously struggling to release the water as the overflow has to go up 500mm.
I'm thinking would be easier to run a pipe straight out down the bank?
Also wondering could the run off from the washing machine be connected to this agi pipe and also going into the gravel pit.
Property was built in early 90's.
I've have the pipe jetted and a camera through it.
Any advice grately appreciated.

As above but I think you know that the washing machine won’t be allowed to connect into it as the waste water is untreated

I was stupid enough not to check the position of the pipes under the tiles when installing a toilet and drilled right through the center of a 16 mm copper water pipe. I exposed the pipe by removing a ~30cm section of the plastic sleeve and a ~10 cm section of the pipe around the hole. Several...

Hi, basic question, any insight much appreciated. Looking to have an outdoor tap in my front porch fed from 15mm pex coming up from suspended floor. Pic 1 is inside porch, pex temporarily clipped to give an idea of pipe placement (ignore shoddy blockwork of booted cowboy builder!), Pic 2 is...

Hi, Can anyone advise as to why the cold water to my bathroom keeps airlocking? This originally happened about 12 months ago and has happened 3-4 times since. It’s an upstairs bathroom, fed from a tank in the attic. The tank is about 8 Meters away and feeds a bath, sink and toilet. The tank...
