Hello all,

Like most people, I've gone to turn on my central heating after 6 months of it being off and, surprise surprise, it doesn't work. I'm trying to work out what is wrong with it myself, I enjoy the challenge and the learning process; if all fails, I can call a plumber.

I have an Ideal Classic FF250 gas boiler on the ground floor, and a total of 14 radiators in the house, spread across three floors. The central heating pump is a Wilo Gold 60, in the airing cupboard next to the hot water tank.

Initially, I noticed that the gas boiler was not alight when it should've been. I took it apart and saw that the 1A fuse on the circuit board was blown. I replaced this fuse with a spare I had laying around and the boiler started working again. I also ordered a new circuit board and replaced that the following day. The boiler ignites and appears to sound, look and feel normal.

Still however, no hot radiators.

I then opened the radiator valves on all radiators, as well as bleeding all radiators. I noticed a large amount of air bleeding out two of the radiators in a room I recently decorated (I had removed them from the wall to paint behind). These were the only air bubbles I encountered. I have since gone around and re-bled the radiators and can confirm it is only water coming out.

Still however, no hot radiators.

The circulation pump in the airing cupboard appears to be coming on. It is silent and still when the heating is off. When I turn the heating on it vibrates gently and makes an un-alarming humming sound. The pipes above and below it, however, are stone cold.

At this point, I'm out of ideas. Can anyone please help?

Thanks!
