Hi,

We have a rather old boiler 'Ideal E Type'. It's been good to us since we bought the house 8 years ago. This evening the pilot light went out and won't stay back on. We've tried several times, holding down the gas for 3-4 minutes at a time and nothing?!

We've just sold the house and are due to move next month, so we are hoping we don't have to pay out for a whole new boiler :(

Please could someone give us an idea to the problem?

kind Regards

R

We live in a 1980s four-bedroom detached house. The time has come for new central heating. The current system is a mild revision of the original heating installed when the house was built, and this revision was largely to replace a life-expired boiler: non-condensing fan flue boiler open...

I’m at a loss with this one. We renovated a run down house and have lived in it now for about 16 months. We had a new Greenstar 8000 Style 35 installed. Just before Christmas - about 12 months after install - we came home to a funny smell like paint, shoe polish etc - a very chemical smell...
