This is probably a daft post but I've got a re-inspection this Thursday. I started back up with them 3 years ago - how time flies :)

The thing is that I can't remember what it is they need to see at the inspection, other than going through the service/installation/commissioning etc.
Do I need to have my spill kit to hand? its usually in my lockup, six miles away from the house unless I'm out on an oil job, as my van is too small to keep everything in it.

I suppose that what I'm actually asking is what 'kit' (Not paperwork) do I need to show the inspector?

mate just do the same old same old, bull**** like madman they wont fail you, they want your money. did you buy all the latest manuals when they last turned up or took out their mandatory insurance? I havent got the manual on how to design a heating system, after all I did spend a year or 2 taking exams to get an nvq etc to prove competence. I havent taken out insurance to cover a crap install, as I like to think i follow the regs to the T on this one so why insure against doing a crap job? quit worrying you wont fail anything

I had one a couple of months ago, they check all the paperwork side - should have a checklist from them. Went to a job, check tank and few tech questions regarding clearances. Asked me to do fga - which i had left at yard on charge! He didn't mind so he just asked about co2 levels and pump pressures, Was probably on site 15 minutes. Cleaned van day before, got it proper organised spill kit etc and he never looked. Not saying they won't want to see one but doubtful, i'd bring it to play safe if you can fit it in. I'd expect gauges, smoke pump, fga, water detection paste, what ever you would usually bring to do an oil job really.

Update - Looked at fga calibration certificate, visited site, answered a few questions re flue, did inspection on tank and that was it. I did get a non compliance notice though as I couldn't produce my PL certificate. Got the wife to find it when she got in from the gym, photographed it with iPhone and emailed to then same day.

yet to do a site visit with oftec, why annoy a customer dragging someone else behind you :)

Hi guys. I'm trying to identify a toilet model before ordering a seat for a customer. I went to what used to be a Roca stockist (they no longer are) and one of the guys there reckoned it might be "The Gap". I went to the new stockist and the guy there disagreed it was "The Gap" and that he'd...

Hello all, I’m replacing a concrete paving slab patio in the back yard. The original patio used 50mm deep concrete slabs on hardcore & sand. I’m planning to pour a 100mm deep concrete patio on 100mm hardcore. In order to achieve the same final height to line up with the rest of the patio, I...

Hi, Can anyone advise as to why the cold water to my bathroom keeps airlocking? This originally happened about 12 months ago and has happened 3-4 times since. It’s an upstairs bathroom, fed from a tank in the attic. The tank is about 8 Meters away and feeds a bath, sink and toilet. The tank...
