I recently bought a portable barbecue (the Char Broil Grill2Go X200 to be precise).

This type of gas barbecue runs off of the so-called "universal screw fitting" gas canisters like the one pictured here:

The screw fitting is otherwise known as an EN417 7/16" UNEF screw thread. With some basic modification the barbecue can also accept input from a CGA600 thread blowtorch canister like the one pictured here:

However, I have 5 or 6 full-size 13KG butane cylinders (Flo-Gas brand) lying around doing nothing, so I want to use these to power the barbecue instead of the expensive disposable screw-thread cartridges.

The problem is, after WEEKS of research, I can't find a single way to connect a 13KG 21mm clip-on-type butane cylinder to an EN417 screw-thread or a CGA600 thread inlet.

Char Broil sells an adapter kit which allows propane cylinders to be used with the barbecue:

But the above kit doesn't connect to butane cylinders which use a different size of clip-on output nozzle.

There are various adapters which change the output of a 13KG butane cylinder to a different type of fitting, but I can't find any which even come close to interfacing with the barbecue.

I've made the following big flowchart to illustrate every option I've found over the last few weeks which you can see here:

Does anyone here know anything about butane gas connections, or know where I might find more information?

In case you hadn't noticed... I'm going mad not being able to solve this and I've spent hours looking for adapters.

The upside is I now know more about butane fittings than I ever wanted to!

Thanks.

Please get a gas safe engy to do the connections
