I need to move an internal water meter, I can easily move it with out disturbing the seals on the meter am I allowed to?

i would say as long its in the same room and its accessible for reading you should be ok , but a phone call to water provider will make live easy

Yes, it is just moving it sideways, it has a remote reading facility and the cable looks long enough to not cause a problem. I was planning to call the water company anyway. I looked on the Internet and could only find the United Utilities web site (not the water company concerned.) with information on moving meters. They say okay but charge a £46.50 inspection fee.

just ring your water provider on monday and get a ref number from your inquiry and then have the work done !

If everything is long enough to reach, I would do it and not even consider even phoning to ask.

yeah i would too, just move it to suit and not tell them, as long as its plumbed in and not by passesd then i wouldnt bother informing them.

Can anyone recommend a decent multi meter, preferably under a 100 pounds. It's for checking boiler components so I don't need a top spec one ....just easy to use and reliable. The fluke 115 looks good but its above my budget. My current socket and see one was great but it's developed a fault.

Hi, Can anyone advise as to why the cold water to my bathroom keeps airlocking? This originally happened about 12 months ago and has happened 3-4 times since. It’s an upstairs bathroom, fed from a tank in the attic. The tank is about 8 Meters away and feeds a bath, sink and toilet. The tank...

I was stupid enough not to check the position of the pipes under the tiles when installing a toilet and drilled right through the center of a 16 mm copper water pipe. I exposed the pipe by removing a ~30cm section of the plastic sleeve and a ~10 cm section of the pipe around the hole. Several...
