Got this in my email this morning - its the same old tired approach asking for money for maintenence contracts. Seems remarkably similiar to others.

We have recently opened up a tendering for a Gas Maintenance Contract we have within the YO Postcode Area.
Due to additional contracts and Client demands, Landlord Services Group urgently require professional Gas Engineer’s within the YO Postcode Area to provide Annual Gas Checks& Servicing along with any repairs, installations and full Maintenance work that comes through from our National Corporate “Blue Chip”Clients.
The successful applicant will offer a “one stop shop” service in their specific field and a proven track record of exceptional customer service is essential.
We are currently tendering for fully qualified Gas Engineer’s to provide a range of maintenance services to our clients on an 2 year contract basis.
Your service levels must be second to none and you must be able to show that you have all necesary KPI's in place to ensure we offer a first class solution to our Clients.
All Maintenance Companies interested in joining our ever expanding Group will need to provide the following services:

Work Guaranteed​

This work is guaranteed and the chosen Contractor will be given exclusive rights to the contract within the designated Postcode area over the next 2 years. The successfull candidate will be required to work for both our Corporate "Blue Chip Client's" and a host of local Property Management Companies, Letting Agent's, HMO Providers, Building Contractors, Insurance Firms and Banking Groups.
Landlord Services Group have rapidly become the fastest growing Management Company in the UK and we now cover every aspect of property maintenance ranging from Gas& Electrical Contractors right through to Surveyancing and renewable energy.
Offering such a unique all inclusive service within the property sector, we have secured some of the U.K’s most creditable contracts within both the property management sector and also from National Blue Chip Companies, which in hand has helped us to be able to provide such maintenance contracts for the more dedicated local Gas and Electrical Companies who can provide our Clients a more professional local service.
Our Larger Clients require the most competent Engineers to carry the work out, so it is our responsibility to determine from all the Companies interested who will represent our Company in the correct manner. We have a strict criteria that must be met by our engineers and various factors come into place when we implement a company to carry out the work.

Contract Details & Cost​

The Duration​ ​	2 Years (24 Months) (After the 2 year period is over,the successfull contractor will be given first option of taking on the contract again before it is opened up for tender)
The Guarantee ​ ​	500 Full Managed Properties over the contract term (All Gas Maintenance work included) (Duties will include CP12’s, servicing, repairs, call out's, installation work, insurance work, student accommodation and general plumbing work.
The Clients ​ ​	Letting Agents,Property Management Companies,Insurance Firms, Banking Group's, Building Firms & HMO Providers. (All of which are contracted to use the services of Landlord Services Group.
The Cost ​ ​	£1710 + VAT (Made Payable at the start of the contract for the chosen Company): Administration Fee for the full 24 Month Period.

The Contractors fee applies only to the successful Company and this fee allows us to be able to cover the running costs of the contract over the next 2 years and means we DO NOT take any commission from the chosen Contractor for any work carried out on our behalf.
To ensure the contract costs are kept to an absolute minimum for our Contractors, the contract is completely free to tender for and the one off fee is only payable upon commencing the contract.

have you seen the website. what a pile of pants (and thats being polite because i know it would be edited otherwise). what a bunch of chancers.

the thing is with though. there are so many guys out there desperate for work they will be duped by sweet talking sale people who know which buttons to press and sing all the right tunes and those said people will be in an even worse financial state after. and its not because they are stupid its because they desperate to put food on the table. its at times like this you let your guard drop and then you get conned.

Quick-book have recently developed a booking system that allows letting agents , property management companies and private customers to book work they need done on properties directly with local gas engineers.
Having worked in a letting agency for some time and seeing the difficulty we had in finding gas engineers and plumbers and then calling them about pricing and availability I had a bit of a “eureka” moment.

I had a email today from them offering me a contract for 500 houses. I contact them as i could do with more work. I talked to someone on the phone for nearly an hour as he quoted me really good rates, he then said his boss would contact me within a couple of hours for a full interview over the phone. At that point I did my homework and found the site to be quite basic and i found an artical in this forum telling people to stay well clear.They told me the work was in the CA7 postcode which is 40 miles from my house, so when he phoned back I told him it was to far to travel. He then said there must be some mistake hang on ill check it out. He obviously just looked at a map and told me it was centred around ayle (closest place to where i live on the map). Funny thing is theres only 5 houses there. When I told him that he said it was a 15 mile radius around Ayle. LOL Apart from my town of 2000 people theres nothing in a 15 mile radius of Ayle. Iam pleased I did my homework and didnt fall for it, and I hope nobody else does either. Thank you to this site for giving me the heads up and I hope this post will help other hard working plumbers dodge this scam.

there is no shortage of scammers out there I got robbed big time by a firm called SCOOT who did not deliver what they promised costing me over £2500 OUCH

Thank you for all of your comments about this ,I was phoned to day after 4 weeks of emails .It did sound to good to be true and you know what they say ,thanks a gain guys we all do work very hard for our money and don,t deserve to loose it on scams.

same outfit contacted me and when i didnt part with any money kept phoning saying hat it was my last chance before they gave the contract to someone else. they could also only offer me work some 70 miles away...Sorry i am not going 150 miles for a free quote. I liked the whole phone conference part of the scam though, I couldnt help but laugh. The questions were totally predictable, and as they were supposedly interviewing 4 individuals, then 4 became three... and i had to be available between 10 and 12.. i hadnt rung so they called me at 1010 saying they had already interviewed one guy and they still had to interview one more after me... my interview lasted about 40 minutes. I was contacted about 1155, and was told i was the successful candidate. i PRETENDED TO BE SURPRISED AND ELATED. AS SOON AS THEY PUT DOWN THE PHONE I CONTACTED TRADING STANDARDS...WATCH THIS SPACE

i wouldnt join any of these scams id only go with the bonifide council contract and even then id be scetical the woman at business link said if money up front is asked for its a scam most proper places will get you the work and after 6 months they,ll then bill ye
