I want to change the washer in a kitchen mixer tap (I have changed before abput 10years ago ) but this time i seem to be at a loss as to how to get to the barrell

The taps are clear plastic type

I take the screw out from the top and take the cover off

but then i'm left with a plastic sleeve which still turns the tap on/off - i cant see how to get that portion of the plastic off

it has the screw spindle in the top - which the main tap screws into - then around that is a nut shape - which aligns inside the main tap cover i have removed

i just cant see how to take that sleeve part off ........
i feel it should maybe just pull off - but do not want to break it

a picture of the mixer tap is shown here

If its a plastic hexagal shape component, then this shoud come straight off the brass spindle.

It may need a little levering with a screwdriver or pulled off with some grips :)

the plastic at the top has a hexagal shap on top with a metal nut inside is this nut part of the barrell attachemnet so i should end up with a plastic cup (upsidedown) on the top of the tap when i pull it off, will be the nut i can see and the screw thread as part of the barrell,

and then i will be left with a hexaganal hole in the top of the cup, when i pull it off

Our kitchen mixer tap has started dripping. Like so much of the plumbing in our almost new build bungalow, it is lacking! The plumber didn't install any isolating cocks in the H&C feed to the tap so how can I identify which of the valves is passing? Shut the whole H&C water system down?

I have attached an image of the brass body within a tap. Having replaced a cartridge which has cured a leaking tap, I can see that there is a small leak from the brass body which can be unscrewed. Is there a seal behind the body? Thanks.

IS IT POSSIBLE TO ADJUST THIS MIXER UNIT? WE HAVE TO HAVE IT TURNED ALMOST FULLY ANTI CLOCKWISE TO GET HOT WATEROUT. THE FRONT PLATE WITH MIRA ON IT PRISES OFF AND INSIDE THERE ARE SOME PLASTIC BITS AND A SMALL CROSS-HEAD SCREW IN THE MIDDLE. THANKS

The fittings below are for a mixer bar attached to a self contained shower. i.e not a wall. The attaching screws have snapped. I could get two new brackets, dismantle that existing one and start again or I could try and re attach via those screws, removing the broken ones from the plate and wall...

Hi, Can anyone advise as to why the cold water to my bathroom keeps airlocking? This originally happened about 12 months ago and has happened 3-4 times since. It’s an upstairs bathroom, fed from a tank in the attic. The tank is about 8 Meters away and feeds a bath, sink and toilet. The tank...
