I have a system with 14 UFH Circuits on the ground floor and 21 Radiators upstairs. We primarily use the UFH plus a few Bathroom rads and then a Rads in very cold weather. I’ve always run the system with the Boiler operating based on - Target Flow Temp setting, but am wondering if anybody has experience of running their system based on Return Flow Temp Control ?

Its quite a big property and so uses a high amount of energy and what with energy costs, I’m looking at all approaches to improving efficiency.

As we start to put the CH on with the cooler weather, I’m currently reducing the Target Flow Temp Plus. from 70 to 58 to see how that works. The UFH Circuits have their own circulating pump and blending valve that set to about 50. The Rads and HW all run from the Boilers internal pump. Boiler is a Vaillant ecoTEC 630
