Hi. Our Mira Vigour thermostatic shower is starting to make a whining noise. It sounds very familiar! Eight years ago I ignored it and ended up having to replace the entire unit. Older and wiser (courtesy of the internet) I realise (now) that it needs new brushes; I've had the cover off and can see the start of the 'blackening'. I've searched the internet for instructions on how to remove the motor so I can change the brushes, but can't find anything. In order to avoid the wrath of my (potentially shower deprived) family, can anyone steer me towards an idiot guide on how to remove the motor? Cheers.

Brushes not a serviceable part. Need to replace pump/motor assembly. Over 100 notes plus delivery. Might be worth swapping the whole shower and getting a full warranty on the lot.

I would buy a new shower and swap them over immediately.
Then play around with the old one to your hearts content, getting it ready to swap back in when the new one fails- that way you’ve got about eight years to sort it out and the family pressure is off!

Brilliant, thanks. Good advice from both - Not much difference between a replacement pump and the entire unit. Annoying because I'm seeing what looks like the same motor on a youtube clip having its brushes changed for around ÂŁ10 !! View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rT0M5j99jeY

At least I don't feel so bad about not trying to repair the last one!

On second thoughts, however....
If you can buy a replacement motor.... Mira pump motor assembly | Mira 453.03 | National Shower Spares - https://www.showerspares.com/search/mira_pump_motor_assembly_453.03/
And these guys are selling these brushes for a Mira Vigour motor for ÂŁ9.99 Thermostatic....https://www.mrcarbonbrush.com/Mira_Essentials_Shower/p2644628_14008552.aspx
And if this guy is showing me how to replace the brushes in the same motor... Power Showers | Mira - https://www.showerdoc.com/default.aspx?id=654&n=654&cid=0&rid=0&catid=0&lid=1&range=9&cty=1554&pid=49197
Then I am back to my original question...does anyone have a guide to removing the motor?
Thanks

Hi, I have a Hansgrohe T30 thermostatic cartridge (98282000) that I need to clean or replace, but I can't remove it. I've spent ages Googling this, but I just can't find the right tool to help - it's probably a custom Hansgrohe tool. Can anyone guide me? Thanks!
