Just came back from this job nice install, unvented, 2 heating zones and underfloor. What baffled me though is the installer went from 22mm to 28mm only then to Tee off for motorised valves in 22mm straight away. Did he run out of 22mm Tees or has a fetish for 28mm fittings? Or is it a common practice Im not aware of..

Why not put one lever valve on the 22 rather than 4 crappy gate valves lol!

means he has more room around each valve for future servicing, what a good lad :) or he has a load loafing around

I'd of put one lever valve on the 22 and then a leaver on each outlet as well,
I almost always drain down now when it comes to gate valves, never have any luck with them

Not many people bother, I guess when the valve goes wrong it will require a new head anyway... Possibly 10+ years when we need to change the body itself, by what time even a lever valve might leak, so for all the extra hassle on install its not worth trying to isolate individual components I reckon...

Hi, Can anyone advise as to why the cold water to my bathroom keeps airlocking? This originally happened about 12 months ago and has happened 3-4 times since. It’s an upstairs bathroom, fed from a tank in the attic. The tank is about 8 Meters away and feeds a bath, sink and toilet. The tank...
