Brought a duel gas hob online and had it fitted to the boat by a recommended LPG fitter. I`ve found that there is almost no adjustment to control the flame and flame is all blue with no yellow tips, he left a bag of 4 jets behind but I can`t see any markings on these jets so could he had fitted the NG jets rather than the LPG jets? Haven`t paid him yet and don`t want to ask him to return as he lives 25 miles away and will charge me to return.

Thanks.

I would think if he is lpg qualified he would of fitted correct jets, If they was ng the flames would be very high.
I would hope he has fitted the correct jets PETE but are there any other signs other than a high flame? Going to get a magnifing glass to check the jets in the bag for markings but can`t see anything at present.

For your sake, I hope he hasn't done a dodgy and kept the NG jets in and reduced the pressure through the regulator to suit.
That is real cowboy stuff. I doubt he has done that with a new stove and spare jets.

As for flame adjustment, it could be a regulator issue on the LPG regulator.
Was there a burner pressure test done?

I saw him change jets over but how he knew what was in the hob when it arrived I don`t know oz. I also saw him do a pressure drop test which did find a small leak which he cured. Boat is 40yrs old but here they need a BSS every 4yrs..

He is well regarded around here so unless he was having a bad day I don`t think any corners were cut or anything dodgy was done. I am running the Butane bottle to use the gas in it then swapping the bottles and regulator to Propane as recommended by the manufacture so could that have something to do with little adjustment on controlling the flame?

The fittings below are for a mixer bar attached to a self contained shower. i.e not a wall. The attaching screws have snapped. I could get two new brackets, dismantle that existing one and start again or I could try and re attach via those screws, removing the broken ones from the plate and wall...
