Has anyone tried lining joist notches with a low friction, high temperature resistant material to prevent the bangs when a pipe expands and momentarily sticks on the joist?

Sorry that really made me smile. There's a great Shaun the Sheep sketch in there somewhere for the farmers new bathroom radiator.Hair felt is the norm stops the rubbing and creaking, I use Top sleeve sheepswool insulation .
