Hope to get some opinions, advise maybe even a contact.

years ago I used to be a commercial apprentice. Working mainly on ambi rads reznor and powermatic blow heaters, spray booths and the occasional plant room in prisons and research centers. I picked up some knowledge but have to say it was about 12 years ago now so as you can imagine I can't remember most of it.

im thinking of getting back into it but wondered the chances of getting a start given my obvious lack of experience in the sector, I don't want to spend money on training courses etc if it's unlikely to get me a job on sensible money. After all I do have bills to pay.

cant go back to the company I originally joined as it ended less then amicably.

thoughts welcome

Have you used mapress / press fit before?
What are you looking to do on sites - pipe fitting, gas, plant rooms or plumbing?

Service and breakdown really.

used press fittings on dry risers but that's it.

Commercial stuff hasn't changed that much mate, you should have no big issues :)

See I'd like that but not sure how to get started in it. Plus also need to be cautious with how much I'm spending as I currently have a lot less then nothing

Anyone got anything that's worth reading/studying to help rebuild my knowledge think I'm going to try and make the transition

Rob did you look at croppies drop box in arms with all the regs n fault finding. There's a folder on commercial. I've not looked at it so not sure what alls in it but might be worth having a look.

where are you in the country mate? Would you be willing to work in London and surrounding areas?

I'm in kent about 40 minutes from the south circ traffic depending. Can do london I figured going commercial and my location a lot of it would be up in the smoke.

I'm running a job in east london at the moment probably there till end Nov. Is it mainly commercial gas you want to do? I.e repairs and breakdowns or do you want to install on sites?

Ppm and breakdown really.

Ive just started back on the cards for a company 2weeks ago doing domestic breakdown so probably not going to leave it as yet it's stable money whilst I get some studying done and get comfortable with the regs and process again.

Really appreciate someone coming through with an offer though.

It's so much nicer on the books. Just takes a whole to realise it's not your business and lazy colleagues just that lazy.

Hi, Can anyone advise as to why the cold water to my bathroom keeps airlocking? This originally happened about 12 months ago and has happened 3-4 times since. It’s an upstairs bathroom, fed from a tank in the attic. The tank is about 8 Meters away and feeds a bath, sink and toilet. The tank...

Hello all, I’m replacing a concrete paving slab patio in the back yard. The original patio used 50mm deep concrete slabs on hardcore & sand. I’m planning to pour a 100mm deep concrete patio on 100mm hardcore. In order to achieve the same final height to line up with the rest of the patio, I...
