Just moved house and got a blocked hot water pipe to a mixer shower, I think I need to isolate and drain the inlet pipe before cleaning the filter.
Problem is that the isolation valve from the hot water tank looks like it’s missing a tap/handle - any advice on whether I can replace the handle (and if so, what part I should be looking for) or does the entire valve need replacing?

Lever valve Hane

You can do / use it if you have an adjustable spanner (set the jaws to the flats on the valve where the threads are and turn it 1/4 turn one way)

Or you can buy a lever valve and swap the handle over eg Lever Ball Valve Red 15mm - https://www.NoLinkingToThis/p/lever-ball-valve-red-15mm/67744

Thanks for the reply - appreciate it. Got a screw fix down the road so will try and and replace the handle with that lever valve first.

Beware that not all brands of handle will interchange successfully with different valve bodies. I would just use an adjustable spanner or grips/pliers in that situation.

If it doesn`t want to move in one direction then try the other direction, lever valves are only quarter turn from on to off.

Thanks - unfortunately I discovered this the hard way, and had to use an adjustable wrench in the end. Still gonna try and replace as the location means it’s difficult to get any purchase with a wrench.

Hello all, I’m replacing a concrete paving slab patio in the back yard. The original patio used 50mm deep concrete slabs on hardcore & sand. I’m planning to pour a 100mm deep concrete patio on 100mm hardcore. In order to achieve the same final height to line up with the rest of the patio, I...
