Hi there
Removed old fireplace on 1950 built bungalow, found under floor pipesx2 joint together. One pipe coming to kitchen and dissapiering under bricks, another coming towards hall. Diameter of pipes 22mm and it is steel pipes.pictures attached. Gas pipe to meter coming from underground (another separate pic) and coming straight to loft where is no tees and coming straight to boiler.
Im just wondering is it an old unused gas pipe ? Checked it , opened bung, no gas coming.
Thank you

Do not presume that no gas coming out means dead as it could be blocked would advise gas installer to check and cap off even if dead.

Might be a good time for a re pipe if it’s a gas supply

Is it close to a gas fire ?

Hi all
It is not connected to gas supply. Gas pipe coming from ground to gas meter (see pic) and coming straight to loft where is boiler installed. No tees.
And question was not answered.

You think gas pipe is connected without going trough gas meter? Oh wonderfull, i have limitless gas supply then.
