Electric would be an option but was thinking of cost to run , it was a Baxi wallheater and was less than the permitted distance from flue to window openingWould fitting an electric rad be an option? What type of gas fire was it and how close to the window was it?
just To confirm a flueless still needs to be 500mm from opening window , thanksDoes it have to be in the same position as the Baxi wall heater? You're not going to find anything gas powered that can be fitted that close to the window, but a flueless gas fire fitted 500mm or more away from the window might be an option, although not knowing the room it might not be suitable for other reasons.
If there is some flexibility over its location your best bet is to call some local gas engineers, explain the situation and see if they can come round check the room and quote you for some suitable options. If it has to be in the exact same position then electric is only option.
