Hi
When the boiler is needed, the fan starts and the pilot lights but continues to spark. The main burner does not light. I checked the ignition probe and found the lead was damaged so replaced it but I have the same symptoms. The fault finding guide suggests replacing the PCB but I would like to check if this is the likely problem. What I don't understand is how the control circuit knows the pilot it alight so it can open the main gas valve? I have checked components on the PCB and the only odd thing I can find is what looks to be a transformer leading to the HT output measures low resistance on the two pins not connected to the HT pin but open circuit on the side that does lead to the HT pin.

Any assistance gratefully received.
