Hi, I have had my gas heater pipe capped by a Gas safe engineer, he also did a leak test, he used solder, as i know nothing about gas pipes, how long does the seal last? Should i be concerned about potential leaks in the years ahead? Thanks

Years, 25 plus if done correctly

Really, didn’t know soldered fittings had a shelf life. You on the juice Mr C?

That’s how long the manufacturers warranty them for

Till I’m out the door :D

That's called a Garden Gate warranty... ;)
Yeah, see where you’re coming from

That’s nowt, you tried posting again directly after another post

No. TBH I'm hating this 'progress'...
I totally 'get' & understand Dan's point, but much of this 'improvement' has made the whole forum less intuitive. less easy to interact and react to posts and so far more 'clunky' without seemingly adding anything from a participant perspective - IM(not so)HO.

I would wager the number of posts per person is down

The fittings below are for a mixer bar attached to a self contained shower. i.e not a wall. The attaching screws have snapped. I could get two new brackets, dismantle that existing one and start again or I could try and re attach via those screws, removing the broken ones from the plate and wall...
