Having a few issues with shower going cold. It is ok early morning before 7am but after this time goes cold after a few mins.

Would this be the heat exchanger or something else. Water pressure is weaker later in the day so wondering if this is the issue.

Thanks

If it's ok before a time it's not the boiler

Never really have the hot taps on long enough. This has only started heppening over the last week or so since the massive pipe burst in Birmingham in the news. We are only a couple of miles away.

Could you try the hot taps for long enough?

Just ran the hot water taps for several minutes and all was fine.

I would say it's the shower then

Shower takes hot water directly from the boiler, would it be a thermostat?

Thermostat cartridge in the shower yes or could be the filters on the shower inlets as you've said the water main burst

Try turning down the domestic hot water thermostat at the boiler. The shower may struggle to mix properly if the water is too hot and the flow is reduced.

My guess is local water board have turned local pressure down. You may need to re calibrate your shower. Basically pull to temp knob off, turn it (past the stop) until itā€™s hotter, then replace the knob. Easy
