Hi, I'm installing a patio across all of my back garden, and was intending to put channel drainage along the cream wall shown in the picture. I've recently had some pvc soil pipes put in, shown in the picture, so my thought was to connect to these (they already take rainwater as it's an old property).

I'm not sure the best method for connecting - the existing pipe bits seem pretty solidly put together (I don't know if push or glued). I've looked at boss connectors but these seem more aimed at internal /above ground pipework and don't go any larger than 40mm.

Advice would be greatly appreciated. Pictures for context.

Putting more storm water into the foul drains might be a bad move one day ?

Have you considered if a soakaway might be possible somewhere (need to keep away from walls). Presumably at the moment the rain just soaks into the ground.

Is the courtyard surrounded by walls on all sides ? ( and are they house or garden walls etc.)

Cheers,

Roy (very amateur plumber )

Hi Roy,

Thanks for the response.

I've been looking into that, but I understand a soakaway needs to be 5m from the house. The garden simply isn't big enough for that. Three of the walls are garden walls, the rest are the house.

Do let me know if you have suggestions though.

Sam
