Could anybody help identify the box next to the temp gauge please, inquisitive!

I saw before the edit, now follow that fitting back and down, spot anything wrong?

AH!.........took a minute to work that out!
I was talking about the corrosion on the elbow (that's what it looks like on that photo to me anyway) .
It made me think of the reactivity series, de-zincification and how we never used to use brass fittings on hot water systems as a rule. I was asking a question of @YorkshireDave as he was on here at the time but that was yesterday and alas, the question has slipped my mind. It will hopefully return soon. If it does, I will be back with it.

The fittings below are for a mixer bar attached to a self contained shower. i.e not a wall. The attaching screws have snapped. I could get two new brackets, dismantle that existing one and start again or I could try and re attach via those screws, removing the broken ones from the plate and wall...
