My husband works as a self-employed plumber/gas engineer in London. I help him with book keeping sending out invoices, chasing down non-payers! But for the last couple of years we've not made above £18,000 profit. That's after Insurances, van costs etc. Roughly he aims for £250 a day. He doesn't always get that but often does. I'm thinking that the costs have gone up and up and the amount that we can charge has gone down a bit - or simply stayed the same. What do others think? Has anyone had the same experience? Any ideas for improving this situation?
Thanks Michelle

Am missing something here ,250 a day is 1250 a week,say work 47 weeks,thats 58,750 a year,if profit only 18,000,expenses 40,750

If I were you,I would look for the mistress !!! :tt1: :dizzy2:

but yes things are quieter the last few years, prices are tighter and materials ect going up
