im guessing your on about screwing the rad valve directly into the wall plate elbow ?

if thats correct you will need very long rad valve tails as there off the wall along way

normally first fix mine in copper / chrome and then get some angled rad valves so the pipe goes straight into the valves

I’ve the walls chased ATM. I just thought it would be handy and neat to put wall plates in now and blank them off until I hung the towel rails. It’s 16mm multilayer pipe I’ve ran for them. I’ll just go with 16mm press type elbows instead with the pipe left out the wall?
 
Yes you can do or you can do this if your valves accept 15mm copper and use your back plates

Yes they look the job! My other reason for wall plate was to try and future proof it, if ever there was an issue after the wall plate I’d just unscrew from the wall plate and start again. The tower rails will be dual electric & worked off a heat pump during summer/winter but not as a heat source as I’ve put in an underfloor heating system into a passive foundation system.
