Do central heating pumps lose their strength over several years and is it worth taking it apart and servicing it?
Are the two seals either end 1 1/2 inch or 1 1/3 inch?

What's the latest central heating pump should I need to replace mine (photo) like for like?

Thanks, which one of those would be equivalent to the one I have? You're not a fan of Grundfos then?

I would have thought the pcb would control the pump overrun? They are on the Vaillant‘s I work on anyway.

Are there any indicator lights on on the pump when it's stopped?

No, wouldn't cause any flooding but you don't need any air ingress as it leads to decreased rad output, corrosion and sludge build up.

Thanks everyone for the advice so far. I got the CH pump changed out. My old one had stopped reliably starting when turning up the room...
