I'm going to buy this shower kit, any reason why I shouldn't, any compatibility issues? Combi boiler is going in this week.

Wicklow Q-612 Concealed twin thermostatic shower valve & slide rail kit (Chrome). - Bathroom Taps and Showers

Bath tap is this one.

Ideal Standard CERAMIX ALTO 2 Tao Hole Bath Filler at Sinks-Taps.com

If I bought the ceramix alto shower lever it'll match but I think seperate dials for flow & temp are easier to use, plus temp has blue-red gradient which parents will understand.

Really want the two to function seperatly, no need to flick between one with those levers on typical bath tap/shower combis which are really annoying.

Hi badbob, I hope you're still online as I can ask you about you're shower choice.

Wicklow is not a brand I have heard before but others may have, Ideal Standard - absolutly fine, plenty of spares available etc.

I had a quick google of Wicklow showers and I got something about rainy weather in a town called Wicklow!.

You can't go wrong with Aqualisa, Mira Grohe etc.

yeah I'm online. Anything similar to that Wicklow with the two dials, neat inwall fitting (thermostatic) and easy to read temp dial?

Like I said I could get the Ceramix Alto shower to match the tap suite I already bought, but is it a thermostatic unit? Also no dial just a lever like the tap mixer.

ÂŁ200 is my limit.

as said .i would go for a named brand for spare parts in future namely thermostatic cartridge,if you have a tight budget go for one of the torpedo types, looks good, good operation, also with temp button
If you do not worry about brands, try here, have fitted a few from e bay, good quality for price,i was surprised, brass valves, they say they can supply spares but have not had to try yet
but could buy two valves one for spares

THERMOSTATIC SHOWER MIXER TAPS VALVE, 2 WAY, CHROME 063 on eBay (end time 28-Jul-09 11:15:40 BST)
