Flue alignment

Hi all
Ive jjust had a new Baxi 836 installed.The engineer couldnt line up the flue from the top of the boiler to existing hole.He,s offset the flue at an angle to go thru said hole and placed sealing ring on the flue but it doesn,t cover existing hole,there,s an inch gap one side.Would this be acceptable(ive got a carbon monoxide detector fitted in cuboard with boiler)Thanks for any answers.

Flue alignment has now been rectified also ceiling plate has been fitted around flue.Orignal ring now sits nicely in place.Finishes the job properly.
